Financial Analyst

Lantern Government Solutions is seeking experienced financial analysts to meet an emerging and rapidly expanding need within the Department of Veterans Affairs as VHA undertakes one of the largest organizational transformations in its history. The incumbent will directly contribute to shaping the future of VHA operations, supporting modernization efforts that improve care delivery, strengthen governance, and enhance the Veteran experience. This is mission‑critical work at a pivotal moment for the nation's largest integrated healthcare system, and Lantern is committed to providing the expertise, stability, and leadership required to help VA succeed.Position SummaryThe Financial Analyst supports the VHA RISE Finance Reorganization by providing enterprise‑level financial analysis, governance support, manpower modeling coordination, and implementation support. The analyst contributes to the design and activation of a unified VHA Finance organization aligned with the VHA CFO and Departmental Office of Management expectations. This role directly supports activities described in the PWS, including organizational design, workforce modeling, governance standardization, internal controls validation, milestone tracking, and executive decision support.Major DutiesConduct enterprise‑wide financial functional assessments to identify consolidation, optimization, and standardization opportunities across HQ, Program Offices, and VISNs.Support development of phased organizational structures and reporting authorities for the unified VHA Finance organization.Coordinate manpower modeling and HR classification actions in partnership with Workforce Management and HR offices.Develop financial analyses, cost models, and decision‑support products for senior leaders.Validate internal control models and support readiness reviews for Initial Operating Capability (IOC) and Full Operating Capability (FOC).Maintain integrated master schedules, risk logs, and dependency trackers for finance transformation workstreams.Prepare executive‑level briefings, dashboards, and governance artifacts.Support communications planning and workforce transition activities to ensure continuity of operations.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesExpert knowledge of federal financial management, PPBE, internal controls, and audit principles.Experience supporting large‑scale healthcare or federal financial transformation initiatives.Ability to synthesize complex financial data into executive‑ready products.Strong understanding of VHA organizational structures and finance operations.Proficiency with MS Excel, Power BI, and project management tools.Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and workstreams in a rapid‑response environment.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).5-8+ years of federal or VHA financial management experience.Experience supporting VHA CFO, FSC, or VISN finance operations strongly preferred.BenefitsHealth, Life and Other Insurance AvailableOpen PTO program aligned with meeting performance expectationsWorking at Lantern Government SolutionsWorking at Lantern means joining a firm built on purpose, integrity, and a deep respect for public service.
