Millwright PositionThe Millwright will work as part of the maintenance team providing quality operational repairs and preventative maintenance services. As a member of this high-performance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance of all mill machinery within the mill environment, along with other mechanical duties.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesInstallation, rebuilding, maintenance, and preventative maintenance of all production equipmentMaintain and repair pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing processTroubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, lubricate, and perform routine preventative maintenance work on all machinery within the mill environmentRead and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processesOperate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up, and repair of equipment and machineryInspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctionsFollow preventative maintenance procedures in the inspection, repair and/or replacement of itemsPerform corrective maintenance per the current maintenance programComply with parts and materials acquisition proceduresAssist mechanics and electricians when necessaryParticipate in shop clean up dutiesPerform all additional duties assigned by supervisorOperate in a safe manner in accordance to work safe rules, regulations, and policiesRecognize and eliminate all safety hazardAcquire a working knowledge of all monitoring and diagnostic equipmentUtilize knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvements and savingsSupport and explore innovative ideas that further the organization's strategic planEducation And/Or ExperienceHave a high school diploma or GEDJourneyman Millwright CertificationHydraulic systems troubleshooting experienceExperience with CMMS systems and JDE an assetKnowledge of lumber manufacturing processes and equipmentSkillsAbility to read blueprints, plans and schematicsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsCommitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with little supervisionOrganizational and planning skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook considered an assetBe mechanically inclinedComplete or be engaged in the basic welding courseComplete or be engaged in the basic hydraulic course
