QC Inspector - Level II (UT/MT)

Summary: Alpha Iron is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector who will work closely with the Quality Manager to control the quality of our manufacturing process. Perform quality control tasks that include but are not limited to weld inspections, materials, in process and finished product. Keep our programs in compliance with all certifications and regulations. Alpha Iron carries the following AISC accreditations-1. Building Fabricator2. Bridge Fabricator – Intermediate3. Highway Component Manufacturer4. Hydraulic Fabricator – Advanced5. Fracture Control EndorsementEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Support all QC programs including but not limited to AISC, ABS and city certifications.Assist in developing AISC and other QC programs as needed to comply with our customers' specifications.Perform dimensional and visual weld inspections for relevant deviations from established requirements.Initiate communication and report on non-conforming materials, products, or processes.Audit production processes for adherence to QMS requirements, customer specifications, and codes.Record results of inspections electronically or on forms as required.Perform the QC and CWI duties required by AISC, AWS or customer requirements.Assist in keeping our production shop prepared for AISC audits.Knowledge and Skill Requirements:Knowledge of AWS Certified Welding Inspector required.Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding codes and standards minimum.Knowledge of AWS D1.5 and Fracture Critical is a plus.Minimum 1 year relevant experience.Willingness and aptitude to learn and adhere to Alpha Iron's QMS.Ability to read shop drawings and contract drawings.Knowledge of AISC Standard requirements.Arithmetic skills including geometry and trigonometry to perform QC inspections..High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.CWI certification required.Level II UT and Level II MT preferred.Working Conditions:Must be able to lift 60-90 lbs. 3 feet.PPE will be worn at all times.The role is based in a structural steel fabrication shop where temperatures may vary, and noise levels can be high.Compensation and Benefits:$30-$40 per hour DOEFull Medical, Dental, and Vision401K ProgramPTO and HolidaysOur worksites and job projects are drug and alcohol free environmentsApplicants are drug tested before hiring and are subject to random UA afterFor more information regarding Alpha Iron, please check out our website at http://www.aisteel.us.Alpha Iron, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.Company DescriptionAlpha Iron is the steel fabrication division of Alliance Industrial Group (AIG), a Pacific Northwest leader in structural steel with over two decades of proven excellence.
