Veterinary Receptionist

We’re looking for an enthusiastic animal-lover with outstanding customer service skills to join our amazing and compassionate team! We are a nonprofit and operate a fast-paced, high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic for cats and dogs in the Camp Washington area of Cincinnati. We focus our efforts on helping shelters, rescues, low-income families, and community cats, so that one day there will be no more homeless pets in Greater Cincinnati! We provide a great work/life balance with no evening or weekend work. As the face of our company to the public, you must be a positive, friendly and outgoing person who enjoys talking with and helping people. The job requires the ability to multi-task in a noisy and busy environment, fast & accurate typing skills, comfort learning and using different software programs and the ability to work hard and as part of a team. Candidates must have 1 to 2 years’ experience working at a veterinary clinic, shelter, or other animal organization where they gained familiarity with veterinary terms and services. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Greeting clients warmly and providing excellent customer service · Answering phone calls and emails in a professional and courteous manner · Providing accurate information about the services we provide and pricing · Scheduling both in-person and online appointments through our scheduling software · Assisting with check-in and check-out of surgery patients and assisting the medical team as a vet assistant when necessary · Assisting clients and invoicing during our Friday vaccine clinic Qualifications & Skills Required: · 1 to 2 years’ experience in similar position in the animal/veterinary field · A comfort level with handling cats and dogs · Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills · Excellent typing skills · Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel · Attention to detail and ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced, busy environment; be an energetic self-starter who takes initiative when things need to be done and needs minimal supervision Competitive benefits include: · Monday through Friday work schedule typically ending by 4 p.m. The schedule is generally 40 hours per week.
