This in-person role will focus on the design, development, and management of environmental control systems (ECS) and components for Aerospace & Defense applications. The Project Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance systems that meet demanding operational and environmental requirements.This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical foundation and project management skills to play a key role in developing complex, mission-critical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage engineering projects for environmental control systems and components, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, to develop technical solutions and integrated systems.Perform design analysis, system integration, and validation testing for ECS products, including heat exchangers, fans, and air management components.Develop technical specifications, system requirements, and design documentation in accordance with Aerospace & Defense standards.Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to track progress, resolve issues, and communicate project status.Support prototype fabrication, testing, and qualification activities.Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.Maintain strict adherence to industry regulations, military standards, and company quality processes.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in Aerospace, Defense, or Environmental Control Systems.Experience managing engineering projects from concept through delivery.Strong technical knowledge in thermal systems, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, or mechanical systems design.Proficiency in engineering tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.U.S. Citizenship required (due to DoD contract requirements).Positions are 100% on-site.Preferred QualificationsExperience with military standards (MIL-STD), AS9100 quality systems, and environmental qualification testing.Familiarity with power systems, electronic packaging, or avionics integration.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent a plus.Why Join Us?Work on meaningful, cutting-edge projects that support national security and advanced technology.Be part of a small, collaborative team where your ideas and contributions make a direct impact.Enjoy a dynamic, hands-on work environment with opportunities for professional growth.All positions at Bascom Hunter are subject to background investigations.
