Metrologist
Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Metrologist:
#1. Associates Degree in relevant field of study required.
#2. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study is preferred.
#3. Minimum 1 year of experience in use and programming of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
#4 Minimum 3 years of experience performing dimensional inspections within related manufacturing environment.
#5. Knowledge and experience in working with Engineering Drawings and Specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
#6. Knowledge and experience in use of measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, height gages, and pin gages.
#7. Knowledge and experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques, including process potential and process capability studies.
Requirements of the Metrologist:
Educational Background:
Associate’s degree in a relevant discipline required.
A Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience:
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and programming.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in performing dimensional inspections within a related manufacturing environment.
Expertise:
Proficient in interpreting and working with engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Experienced in utilizing various measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, height gauges, and pin gauges.
Skilled in applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods, including process capability and potential studies.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Capabilities:
Highly motivated, with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to task completion.
Effective in interacting with employees at all levels.
Capable of multitasking and working independently with minimal supervision.
Adept at prioritizing tasks and projects based on input from various stakeholders.
Comfortable with extended periods of keyboard use.
Additional Skills:
Experienced in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in using personal computers, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and data entry.
