Computer Vision/Machine Learning Engineering Manager

What You’ll DoLead, manage, and grow the CV/ML engineering team, including hiring engineers from Junior through Senior Staff levels.Mentor engineers and support their technical growth, career development, and long-term success.Partner with Chief Engineers and the VP of AI to define the CV/ML technical roadmap and own execution within the team.Translate product and company objectives—including new weapon system variants, engagement ranges, and system hardening milestones—into quarterly plans, priorities, and staffing decisions.Contribute hands-on to the development and optimization of computer vision algorithms for real-time drone detection, tracking, and classification.Own delivery commitments for the CV/ML stack and coordinate integration milestones with electrical engineering and hardware teams.Drive engineering quality through design reviews, code reviews, testing, and rigorous validation across a range of environmental conditions and operational scenarios.Help establish technical priorities and remove obstacles to ensure the team consistently delivers against program objectives.What You’ll Need10+ years of experience working with machine-learning-based computer vision and traditional image and signal processing, ideally within robotics, with a proven track record deploying CV systems in real-time or safety-critical applications.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong focus on machine learning and computer vision.Experience managing or serving as a technical lead for a CV/ML engineering team, with an interest in expanding management responsibilities.Demonstrated experience owning a technical roadmap or planning process for perception, autonomy, or a similar product area.Strong proficiency in Python and C++.Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar platforms.Experience with embedded systems and sensor integration, particularly cameras, LIDAR, and RADAR, is strongly preferred.Ability to drive execution while collaborating with senior technical leadership on technical direction in a fast-moving, engineering-focused environment.You’ll Stand OutFormal management experience, including hiring and scaling a CV/ML or perception team within a startup or 0-to-1 product environment.Ph.D. in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field.Experience developing object detection and tracking systems for challenging real-world conditions, including small targets, cluttered backgrounds, and low-contrast imagery.Background in defense, aerospace, or autonomous systems, particularly environments where performance and reliability requirements are critical.Experience deploying and optimizing models on edge hardware, such as NVIDIA Jetson or similar embedded GPU platforms.Experience with multi-sensor fusion across modalities, including optical and infrared cameras.Experience leading engineering teams through field testing and hardware integration cycles, beyond software-only development.What We OfferCompetitive salaryEquity PackageHealth, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Time Off
