Other duties may be assigned. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, orsample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points onmaterial or work piece as guides for subsequent machining asrequired or needed. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools,attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills,drills, broach, grinders, hone and gear cutting machines. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such asspeed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enterscommands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine controlmedia. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions orout-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or controlmedia as required. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy ofmachine settings or programmed control data. Develops and improves job set up instructions Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly. Tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. Confers with Lead, production personnel, programmers, or others toresolve machining problems.**Supervisory Responsibilities**This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual mustbe able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to deal withproblems involving several concrete variables in standardizedsituations.**Other Skills and Abilities**Mid level blue print reading. Ability to perform mid level set ups. Ableto inspect own parts.
