Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports and more.Come build a career you believe in.About The RoleAs a Tooling Department Coordinator at Atlas Tube at Zekelman Industries, Kansas City, MO, this role is responsible for coordinating tooling availability, mill setups, and tooling maintenance to support efficient production operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring tooling is properly assembled, calibrated, and ready for use while supporting continuous improvement and troubleshooting efforts throughout the mill. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience in manufacturing mill setups.What You’ll DoLead and promote healthy and safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirementsCheck and monitor tooling to ensure it is available, properly assembled, and in good working conditionOrder tooling and saw blades to support production requirementsCoordinate and troubleshoot mill setups to improve operational efficiencyConfigure mill tooling and setups to enhance usability and performanceCalibrate mill stands and alignment to maintain production accuracyCustomize tooling to support efficient and effective operationsOrder inductors and impeders as needed for production processesCalculate strip widths for tube sizes and coordinate tooling regrindsPerform daily lift truck inspections and report defects or irregularitiesSupport production teams with tooling-related troubleshooting and problem-solvingPerform additional duties as assignedMaintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendanceWho You AreMinimum of 2 years of manufacturing mill setup experienceHigh school diploma or GED, preferredBasic math skills for measurements and calculationsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsStrong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesExperience using handheld measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipersHigh attention to detail with strong organizational skillsCommitment to maintaining safe work practices in a manufacturing environmentPhysical AbilitiesLift, carry, push, and pull materials and tooling as requiredStand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shiftOperate lift trucks and manufacturing equipment safelyPerform work in a plant or manufacturing environmentWhat You’ll GetAtlas Tube at Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental coverage.
