Guided by our values of safety, loyalty, integrity, and respect, we are committed to delivering meaningful value for shareholders, customers, employees, and the communities where we operate.The Opportunity Lead warehouse operations by ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant movement of finished goods and materials in support of production and shipping needs.Serve as the on-shift leader responsible for safety, planning, production flow, personnel supervision, and facility standards.Partner with warehouse, maintenance, safety, and quality teams to maintain product integrity, employee safety, and operational continuity.A typical day includes leading pre-shift communication, reviewing shipment schedules, overseeing material flow, monitoring safety and housekeeping standards, and supporting employee performance and development.How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Ensure all safety procedures are followed and clearly communicated to warehouse employees.Explain safety rules and expectations to new employees and support ongoing safety awareness.Oversee completion of pre-use and pre-shift equipment safety checklists.Identify and report unsafe conditions and partner with safety resources to assess workplace hazards.Oversee the movement of finished goods and rolls to support production flow and shipping schedules.Coordinate the transfer of corrugated materials from external warehouse locations as needed.Perform monthly zone checks for paperboard and finished goods storage locations.Communicate with warehouse employees at the start of each shift to align on priorities.Review schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments and adjust staffing as needed.Supervise warehouse personnel and daily operations on the assigned shift.Ensure shipping and receiving logs are completed accurately and on time.Communicate schedule changes and operational updates to warehouse teams.Maintain quality standards and ensure the warehouse is stocked with required supplies.Partner with maintenance and service teams to support equipment, dock levelers, and dock lock upkeep.Oversee housekeeping and delegate cleaning responsibilities within assigned areas.Ensure warehouse areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with standards.Ensure company policies, procedures, and work rules are consistently followed.Organize staffing and assignments to ensure smooth and efficient shift operations.Demonstrate a positive, professional attitude and provide leadership to employees.Address personnel concerns and escalate issues to warehouse or human resources leadership as appropriate.Oversee employee training, evaluations, and performance reviews.Partner with warehouse teams to prevent pest activity, contamination, or product damage.Inspect facilities for conditions that could impact product safety or quality and report issues promptly.Ensure product safety and quality concerns are escalated to appropriate leadership.What You Need to Succeed Qualifications/Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentPrior experience in warehouse, shipping, or logistics operationsDemonstrated experience supervising or leading employees in an operational environmentStrong working knowledge of safety practices and workplace compliance standardsAbility to communicate clearly with employees and leadershipAbility to organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage shift operationsAbility to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodationPreferred/Desired Skills and Attributes:Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environmentExperience coordinating shipping, receiving, and material flowFamiliarity with safety programs, hazard assessments, and quality standardsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to lead teams through change while maintaining productivity and moraleWhat We Offer Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability, and excellenceComprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunitiesAn attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies, and potentialA career with a global packaging company where sustainability, safety, and inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of daily workCandidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by state or federal law.
