Please only serious applicants.Specific Duties: The Software Engineer (open source) is responsible for developing and maintaining software applications primarily in popular open source programming languages. Additionally, the Software Engineer (open source) must manage the improvement of existing applications that are already in use.Custom build web-based applications to industry standards either alone or in conjunction with a small teamProvide third-party code integration and maintenance or enhancementsTroubleshoot website, application, and server problemsContribute to the development of common codeProvide quality assurance and benchmark testing, and document functionality of scripts and website interfacesImprove customer service, perception, and satisfactionAbility to work in a team and communicate effectivelyEscalate development issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levelsCommunicate to customers and internal management: keeping them informed of progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages, etc.Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goalsDevelop in-depth knowledge of the software and how it relates to customer's needsDocument internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilitiesRequired Experience: 5+ years experience building scalable web applications in PHP using MVC frameworksPHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Version Control systems, API's and object oriented programming, developer, programmer, engineer, architectStrong MySQL query building experienceSolid experience with cross-platform, browser compliant HTML (HTML5)Good Javascript knowledge (jQuery framework)Experience with version control systemsFamiliarity with integrating popular APIs (parsing JSON, XML), experience with social media APIs beneficialAttention to detail - clean code and precise design translationExperience working with complex data structures and algorithmsExperience developing workflow and content management solutionsAbility to absorb new technologies quicklyStrong verbal and written communicatorRequired Skills: PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, Version Control Systems, API's, Object Oriented Programming, Developer, Programmer, Engineer, Architect
