We partner with volunteer leaders to build extraordinary communities and bring our clients' missions to life.ABOUT THE ROLEWe're looking for a Membership Specialist to join the American Volleyball Coaches Association team. As the Membership Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting membership recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts that drive the success of the association. In this role, you will use strong judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail to manage and enhance member engagement processes, resolve complex member issues, oversee data and financial information, and identify operational improvements that support AVCA's mission and long-term growth. This position requires working in the office a minimum of four days per week.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyze membership data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and propose strategic improvements to leadershipIdentify risks or inefficiencies in membership or financial workflows and implement corrective actionsOversee the accuracy and integrity of the membership database and update records as neededDesign, implement, and maintain membership programs/services and associated policiesIndependently manage new and renewal memberships and make recommendations to leadership that improve the member experienceExecute financial controls and manage membership, events, and sponsor payments using discretion in handling sensitive informationOversee and direct event registration operations including system design, process standards, and post-event performance analysisIndependently resolve complex event registration situations and approve refundsEstablish operations systems and implement strategic decisions within areaUse discretion to tailor member engagement and communication strategies for priority groups and partnersManage invoicing including proofing details and coordination of logisticsSupport marketing strategies for member renewal, event attendance, and member recruitingExercises independent authority within assigned area without prior approval, subject only to organizational budget and policy parametersAdhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), updating as process improvements are identifiedPossess deep knowledge of association and member offeringsPerforms other duties as assignedRequirementsUndergraduate degree or equivalent combined education or related experienceDemonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and handle complex or sensitive member situationsAbility to manage projects, set priorities, and make decisions with minimal supervisionExcellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with the workforceCommunicate effectively, verbally, and in writing to a diverse audiencePlan, organize, and prioritize workDemonstrate the highest level of ethical behaviorRemains flexible, adapting to changes in work environmentStudy and apply new information and take initiativeExcellent time management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skillsWork accurately with close attention to detailMaintain confidentiality of sensitive informationPossess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracyExhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanorStrong computer skills, including standard Office 365 operating system (e-mail, spreadsheets, etc.)Available to travel when neededWhy Join Associations International?Flexible Work: This role will have the flexibility in work hours.Award-Winning Culture: Best Places to Work in Kentucky (since 2012)Competitive Compensation: Based on experiencePurpose-Driven Work: Support an association making an impact
