This employee is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and configuring database systems to meet business needs and requests. The role is a mix of development and production DBA responsibilities.Responsible for administration, capacity planning, engineering/design, performance monitoring, and optimization of the DB2 for I database platformshould be able to adapt to rapidly changing environments and technologyJob Functions Supports the design and implementation of new database environments and redesign of existing systems to fulfill business needsMonitors and evaluates performance of IBMi databasesTroubleshoots database performance issuesManages database objectsLibraries, views, tables, stored procedures, triggersSupports developers and testing team by maintaining test environments and configuring databases to development specificationsWorks with application development teams to develop data models that support business processesEnsures DB changes adhere to best practicesReviews all proposed DB changes proposed by IBMi development teamCreates technical support documentation for databasesActs as a SME on IBMI database structure and environment
