Night Youth Counselor/ Mentor - Job# 71Winsted, CT 0609840 hours per week - 10-hour shifts$20.00 per hourAbout This Job:The Youth Mentor/ Counselor position will provide direct care, supervise, and assist the adolescents (during school and group times), and act as a role model reinforcing the adolescent's individualized treatment plan. In addition, the Youth Mentor will facilitate groups as appropriate and will conduct therapeutic programming under the supervision of the Clinician and Shift Supervisor. The Youth Mentor must be sensitive to unique issues such as mental health, suicide and contraband. Ensure physical safety of youth and provide Crisis InterventionRoutine counts to make sure clients are present and safeRoutine bed checks to ensure youth are present in their bedsMaintain a professional relationship with youth maintaining proper physical boundariesPlan and lead organized daily activities and facilitate groupsConduct therapeutic programing including Restorative Justice Practices and DBT-LiteInterpret program to youth and familyComplete all written reports as assignedBe aware and assure safety of youth with special needs physical or emotionalProvide transportation to clients and families as neededMaintain Administration of Medication CertificationReinforce and role model youth's individual needs planRegular and consistent attendanceQualifications: Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth, at-risk or court-involved adolescents - RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent - RequiredAssociates Degree or 60 college credits preferredExcellent interpersonal skillsA valid driver's license to utilize a company provided vehicle during work hours - RequiredAbility to work shift listed belowShift and Rate of Pay: Full-time 40 hours per week $20.00 per hour Tuesday 8pm - Wednesday 6amWednesday 8pm - Thursday 6amThursday 8pm - Friday 6amFriday 8pm - Saturday 6amTime and a half/ overtime availableBenefits:At CJR, we pride ourselves on creating a compassionate, culturally responsive work environment and offering a comprehensive benefits package that encourages and supports a healthy work/life balance.
