We partner with businesses, government agencies, and local organizations to createimpactful programs that empower and uplift military families.Independent Contractor Engagement TermsThis independent contractor will be retained solely for project-based, outcome-driven servicesand will not be an employee, agent, or representative of Blue Star Families. The independentContractorWill provide their own tools, equipment, and software necessary for completingdeliverables.Is responsible for determining work methods, scheduling, and location of work.Maintains full control over how services are executed.Will invoice BSF on agreed terms and is responsible for their own tax obligations,insurance, and business expenses.May perform work for other clients and is not subject to BSF employee policies orsupervision.Project Based Scope of WorkBlue Star Families seeks an independent contractor to deliver event-based services in support ofthe Nourish the Service (NTS) program across the New England region.The contractor will be responsible for the planning and execution of four (4) food distributionevents during the contract period. Services are project-based and outcome-driven, with thecontractor maintaining discretion over how deliverables are achieved following Blue Star Familiesguidelines.Scope of Services Event DeliveryPlan and execute a minimum of three (3) and maximum of four (4) NTS food distributionevents across the New England region (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI) within the contract periodDeliver each event including:○ Secured venue and logistics coordination○ Food sourcing and distribution setup○ On-site execution and breakdownEnsure events are delivered in a manner aligned with BSF program intent and communitystandardsVendor & Resource CoordinationVolunteer Engagement (Event-Specific)Community Partner CoordinationDocumentation of Event Statistics & ReportingDeliverables & Payment TermsMinimum of 3, Maximum of 4 completed events between {Month of Hire} and December2026Post-event summary report submitted within 48 hours after each eventOptional periodic check-ins may be scheduled as needed to support deliverablealignment, not as ongoing supervisionAll services shall be delivered in accordance with agreed deadlines and milestones.Payment structure to be outlined in a separate contract. BSF shall not direct how servicesare performed — only that deliverables meet agreed results.Deliver a digital print-ready resource guide and accompanying materials that supportmilitary families in accessing food security resources, including curated referrals,navigation information, and awareness content aligned with Nourish the Service programgoals.Blue Star Families Will ProvideProgram guidelines and desired outcomesBrand standards and approval for vendor agreements when requiredAccess to existing partnerships where appropriateThe parties acknowledge and agree that the Contractor is engaged as an independent contractorand not as an employee, partner, joint venturer, or agent of Blue Star Families. Nothing in thisagreement shall be construed to create an employer-employee relationship.Contract Duration: Through December 2026 with potential for renewal based on mutualagreementCompensation: $1500 per event, paid upon receipt of invoiceThis position is an independent contractor role (1099), not an employee or volunteerpositionThe contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment unless otherwisespecified and must adhere to all BSF confidentiality, ethics, and brand policies.The Contractor may provide services to other clients during the term of this agreement and isresponsible for all business expenses, insurance, licensing, and compliance obligations related totheir independent business.Any resources provided are for brand alignment purposes only and do not constitute control overthe manner or means of the Contractor’s work.Preferred QualificationsThis engagement is suited for an independent contractor with experience delivering:Community-based events or large-scale logistics coordinationFood distribution, food access programs, or related service initiativesPartnership or vendor coordination across multiple locationsResource development or community-facing materials
