Thermal R&D Engineer

As a Thermal R&D Engineer on our Power Solutions R&D engineering team, you willwork in collaboration within the cross-functional team and with customers todevelop the latest technology for the Power Solutions product portfolio. Thisposition will provide thermal engineering support to our team and ourcustomer's program, and associated engineers. The role is responsible for theuse of thermal models/analyses, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations,and lab test correlation to drive thermal management of our product developmentand product solutions for our customers.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide accurate modeling, thermal simulations, and characterization ofpower products and system architectureCorrelate simulation results with test dataProvide design guidance and consideration to customers on power applicationsagainst their design requirements.Perform design feasibility experiments and verifications to determinethermal impact of product solutions.Build technical relationships with our customer's engineering and thermalteams.Provide world class technical support to our customers.QUALIFICATIONS:BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.3+ years of experience in CFD simulation and thermal analysis.Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermal dynamics, thermal management ofelectronics, and advanced electronic cooling methods and thermal compliancetesting standards.Experience with direct liquid cooling is a plus.Familiar with commercial CFD tools, including ANSYS Icepak and/or similarsoftware package (e.g., FloTHERM)Familiar with EIA, UL standardsProficient in mechanical design and 3D modeling using PTC Creo (formerlyPro/ENGINEER) and/or SolidWorks.Strong skills of presenting thermal solutions and thermal analysis resultsto internal design teams, high level leadership, and external customersengineering teams.Excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to expresstechnical content clearly and concisely, work with cross-functional teams,including mechanical engineers, marketing, sales, etc.
