Olsten Staffing is Hiring - Distribution Center Material Handler (1st Shift) Now Hiring! Olsten Staffing is seeking reliable and motivated Distribution Center Material Handlers to join a fast-paced warehouse and distribution team. Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour Shift: 1st Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday-Friday, weekends as needed) Position Summary The Distribution Center Material Handler is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials throughout the Distribution Center. This role supports receiving, shipping, inventory control, and warehouse operations while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Inbound OperationsReceive inbound materials and verify shipments against Bills of Lading (BOL)Conduct trailer inspections and document conditionsReport damaged or missing materialsScan and assign inventory to correct warehouse locationsMaintain accurate receiving documentationMaterial Storage & Put AwayTransport materials to designated storage locationsEnsure proper labeling and organization of inventoryClear cross-dock areas prior to end of shiftShipping & Cross-DockingPrepare shipments according to company procedures and CT-PAT standardsLoad trailers safely and efficientlySecure and inspect loads before shipmentComplete shipping paperwork and documentationOrder FulfillmentStage materials using pick lists with a high level of accuracyOrganize orders for efficient shipment and deliveryInventory ControlPerform daily cycle countsInvestigate and report inventory discrepanciesHelp maintain inventory accuracy throughout the warehouseWorkplace Safety & OrganizationFollow all safety policies and PPE requirementsMaintain clean and organized work areas using 5S principlesSupport continuous improvement initiativesQualifications High School Diploma or GED required 0-1 year of warehouse or material handling experience required 1+ years of warehouse, logistics, or WMS/scanner experience preferred Forklift, Reach Truck, and Tugger experience preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills Needed Material handling and warehouse operations Forklift and powered industrial vehicle operation Inventory management and scanning systems Communication and problem-solving skills Safety awareness and attention to detail Work EnvironmentActive warehouse environmentFrequent standing, walking, bending, and liftingEquipment operation and material movement throughout the shiftApply today with Olsten Staffing and start your next career opportunity!
