With supportive leadership, collaborative teams, and opportunities to grow, GUARD is a place where people build meaningful, long‐term careers.Good things you can count on:Hybrid schedule: 2 days remote / 3 in‐officePredictable hours (no nights, weekends, or holidays)Competitive pay + generous PTOMedical, dental & vision starting day one401(k), tuition reimbursement & longevity bonusesResponsibilitiesAs an Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst (based on level, experience, and qualifications), you'll gain hands‐on experience in pricing and reserving, collaborate with experienced actuarial professionals, and receive strong support as you continue progressing through actuarial exams.What you'll do:Actuarial Analyst:Perform pricing and/or reserving analyses that support informed business decisionsPrepare, validate, and analyze data—using SQL and other data tools—to ensure accuracy and reliabilityCollaborate with team members to develop and enhance actuarial tools and processesContribute to methodology enhancements and efficiency improvements across the actuarial functionMaintain clear documentation so others can easily understand and recreate your workResearch industry trends and assist with studies that support actuarial initiativesAnalyze data and emerging trends to help solve real business challengesPrepare actuarial summaries and reports, communicating results within the departmentParticipate in peer reviews, offering technical feedback and growing alongside your teammatesSenior Actuarial Analyst:Provide strategic input and collaborate with business partnersOrganize and lead the completion of actuarial analysesManage multiple assignments independently and simultaneously with a focus on timeliness and accuracyEnsure appropriate documentation is maintained that allows other actuarial staff members to understand and recreate the work productPrioritize and drive industry research, studies, and analyses to support actuarial projectsCommunicate results, including insights and recommendations within the department, to other departments, and to senior leadershipTrain and mentor team members as appropriate and advocate for their continued developmentWhy you'll thrive hereClear career progression with increasing responsibility and visibilityStrong support for actuarial exam progress and professional developmentAn environment where teams partner closely, stay curious, and continuously improve how work gets doneOpportunities to influence both technical work and broader business outcomes.QualificationsActuarial Analyst:Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field with a strong mathematics backgroundMinimum 2 years of actuarial experience, with commercial lines exposure preferredSuccessful completion of 2 or more exams from the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS)Ability to communicate results and assumptionsExperience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and model resultsTechnical skills are highly valued. Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, and knowledge of SQL and Power BI are preferred; VBA, Python, or other programming skills are a plus.Senior Actuarial Analyst:Near-ACAS, ACAS, or FCAS with five or more years of actuarial experience and at least two years of P&C commercial lines actuarial pricing experienceExceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of resultsAbility to communicate results and assumptionsExperience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and model resultsResults-oriented with the ability to adjust priorities when necessaryIn-depth knowledge of SQL is required; VBA & Python is preferredSalary range:Depending on experience and qualifications, we are open to hiring at one of the following levels:Actuarial Analyst: $70,000-$110,000Senior Actuarial Analyst: $80,000 – $140,000In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary ranges listed above represent good‐faith estimates for each level. Final leveling, title, and compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.Work authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.Primary locations: New York City, NY; Conshohocken, PA; Scottsdale, AZ; Wilkes-Barre, PAThis is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in one of our offices, with travel as needed.
