Retail and Donations Associate
Description:
This position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Habitat ReStore and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming store environment.
Serve as a point of customer contact:
a. Welcome and interact with customers at the donation’s acceptance area, in the store or on the phone
b. Assist with unloading or loading of items
c. Provide cashier coverage when needed
Maintain communications with other ReStore areas to:
a. Provide a consistent donor, shopper and volunteer experience
b. Assist in tracking of donation activity at the donation’s acceptance area
c. Advocate for the Habitat for Humanity mission
d. Complete virtual checks of store inventory and assist Communications Director with online or social media customer communications
Product preparation and merchandising:
a. Inspect donated items to determine if sellable and organize them into the appropriate categories/areas. Assist with the recycling or disposal of any unwanted items
b. Prepare donations and purchased product for sales floor readiness (clean, price, package, label, etc.)
c. Organize merchandise and displays while maintaining a clean and safe sales floor

8 hour shift 8:45 am - 5:15 pm

Requirements:
Understand and appreciate the mission of HFH and ReStore
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work mornings and afternoons, Tuesday thru Saturday
Proficiency with various programs including but not limited to MS Office (Word and excel), Outlook, Teams
Knowledge of building materials and hardware preferred but not required
Retail experience preferred but not required
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and stand for an extended period of time physical job with the ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and stand for an extended period of time
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
