Further, this position ensures Howmet manufacturing and support systems comply with the standards prescribed in AS9100 and standards established by customers and corporate. Job RolesBusiness minded--understands processes and identifies high risk areas; prioritizes based oncompany interests; pushes enterprise to anticipate versus respondDetail oriented--attends to certifications; date and process aware; tracks multiple projectssimultaneouslyRelationship and communication--interacts with technicians to understand, coach and instruct;understands and negotiates customer requirements and concessions; navigates multipleenvironments to ensure team has what it needs to succeed; personableOrganization and structure--directs and redirects resources; coordinates workloads, projectsand timelines; adapts to high pace of environment while maintaining systems and proceduresObjective--makes decisions based on established criteria; explains why; contributes to solutionsand creating pathways to success; gatekeeper to customer satisfaction; ensures consistency ofoutputImprovement and change--creates an additive learning environment; shares and disseminatesknowledge; measures improvement quantitatively; drives positive change and adapts tounforeseen elements; prioritizes requests as they arriveTranslator--helps quality engineers understand management and customer priorities; supportsplant-wide initiatives and implements with teamCourage--willing to hold parts or stop processes; safeguards customer interests and company reputation ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Leader has responsibilities including, but not limited to:Promotes the Howmet quality policy and associated objectivesEnsure the established quality policy is implemented culturally within the plant; comply with regulatory and customer requirements Foster continuous improvementEstablishes measurable quality objectives consistent with business unit and corporate objectives; aligns those objectives with organizational purpose and prioritiesProvides framework for reviewing quality objectives and quality management systemsConducts management reviews of quality management systems per Howmet business operating proceduresMaintains and achieves customer satisfaction goalsPlans and executes continuous improvement activities to improve effectiveness and suitability of quality management systemsAligns resources to meet quality management system objectives and continuous improvement activitiesMaintains quality management system integrity during planned system changes Establishes and enforces quality management processes as part of an overall systemUnderstands and drives compliance to customer quality requirements, and assists in resolution of quality issuesFunctions as primary source of information and communication regarding the effectiveness of the quality management system; regularly solicits input for informal audits and continuous improvementCommunicates the importance of meeting customer, legal, statutory, regulatory, and internal quality requirements to all levels of the organizationInforms customers of any significant organizational changesPromotes customer awareness throughout the organizationRecognizes and cultivates potential in othersSynthesizes and explains data to influence and lead , Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited InstitutionMinimum of seven years of quality related experienceMinimum of three years of leadership experienceEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in a technical related fieldAerospace investment casting quality/engineering/manufacturing experienceWorking knowledge of quality systems and requirements and how they relate to business (i.e. AS9100, NADCAP).Familiarity with turbine engine componentsRead, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documentsAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business communityLead/Support the implementation of initiatives necessary to improve product quality and deliveryExperienced in PPAP and APQPKey on talent development. Conducting performance appraisals of direct reports - Quality Engineers and TechniciansEffectively communicate & present information to all levels of the organization - shop floor, direct reports, and management.Can define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Use and train in the following quality tools - root cause analysis and problem solving, FMEA, control plans, PPAP, APQP, System audits, SPC.Strong computer skills., About Us Howmet Aerospace Inc.
