Tranquil Expressions Salon values creativity, professionalism, and ongoing learning to stay current with industry trends and techniques.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based at Tranquil Expressions Salon in Milford, MI. The Hairstylist/Makeup Artist/Nail Technician will provide a range of services, which may include hair cutting, coloring, styling, shampooing, blowouts, makeup application, and manicures and pedicures depending on skills and licensure. Daily responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their preferences, recommending suitable styles or services, and delivering high-quality, safe, and hygienic treatments. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized workstation, sanitizing tools and equipment, managing appointments, and supporting retail product recommendations. Team members are expected to contribute to a positive salon atmosphere, follow salon policies and health regulations, and participate in ongoing education or training as needed.QualificationsValid state cosmetology and/or relevant technician license (hair, makeup, and/or nails) and compliance with all local regulations.Demonstrated skills in one or more areas: hair cutting, hair coloring, hair styling, and basic hair treatments.Experience or training in makeup application, including day, evening, and special-occasion looks.Proficiency in nail care services such as manicures, pedicures, polish application, and basic nail art or enhancements.Strong client service and communication skills, with the ability to conduct thorough consultations and build repeat clientele.Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in all services and work areas.Ability to work full time on-site, including some evenings and weekends, as required by salon scheduling.Professional appearance, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Willingness to learn new techniques, participate in training, and stay current with beauty and salon trends.Previous salon experience is preferred but motivated, newly licensed professionals are also encouraged to apply.
