Staff Accountant

Our client in the Chattanooga area is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis. It’s a great opportunity for growth with a defined career path for advancement internally and across the international organization ResponsibilitiesPerform monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes including preparation of journal entries Review expenses at a cost center level for accuracy and understanding of key trends Ensure Balance Sheet accounts are properly calculated, supported, and reconciled Involved in all aspects of External and Internal audit activities Perform analysis as well as assist in reviewing or enhancing analysis and analytical processes and controls Prepare monthly reporting and analysis of certain key balance sheet and income statement accounts Actively participate in process improvement initiatives seeking out opportunities for improvement and implementation of new processes and systemsAssist in developing and maintaining internal SOX documentation and controls, reconciliations, monitor operational/industry/regulatory changes and develop new processes and policies to accommodate accordingly Provide timely responses and deliverables to requests from internal customers from functions including Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain, Technology, and department owners Participate in various department-wide initiatives Perform other job duties and ad hoc projects assigned Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required 2-5 years progressive Accounting experience Experience and working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems-preferred Strong understanding of US GAAP Must have advanced Excel skills with proficiency with Vlookups, Xlookups, Pivots and Macros are a plusDemonstrated mastery of accounting concepts for accruals, prepaids, inventory capitalization, allocation of costs to business units, cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, etc. Eagerness and curiosity to learn more and willingness to ask questions to develop understanding to aid in process improvement initiatives1st Network Solutions is a full-service staffing and placement firm specializing in the placement of accounting & finance professionals in the Atlanta metro area.
