Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Post-Acute Setting

Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Physical Therapist Assistant to join Applingwood Post Acute in Memphis. This permanent position involves working with post-acute patients recovering from surgery, illness, injury, and other medically complex conditions. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide hands-on rehabilitative care focused on improving mobility, strength, endurance, and overall functional independence. If you are passionate about patient-centered rehabilitation and making a meaningful impact in recovery outcomes, this is an excellent opportunity for long-term professional growth and rewarding work.Job Responsibilities:• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans for post-acute patients• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility interventions• Monitor patient progress and communicate any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist• Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises, safety precautions, and mobility techniques• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient progress• Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirementsRequirements• Active state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Tennessee• Current BLS/CPR certification• Minimum of 6 months of recent PTA experience within the last 5 years preferred• Experience in post-acute, SNF, or rehabilitation settings is a plus• Strong communication and teamwork skillsBenefits• Full major medical, dental, and vision benefits• Continuing Education (CE) reimbursement• Permanent full-time opportunity• Supportive and collaborative clinical environment• Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient recovery and quality of life
