Clinical Support Assistant - Stony Brook Surgical Associates, UFPCLocation: Commack, NYSchedule: Full timeDays/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM - 5 PM; hours may varyPay: $20.44 - $25.55The above salary range (or hiring range) represents Stony Brook CPMP's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.ResponsibilitiesSUMMARY: To provide general medical office administrative support. Phone coverage for own desk and overflow calls to the department. Acts as a liaison between patients and physicians.Job Duties & Essential Functions:Assists in the overall operation of the medical office.Answers telephone calls and takes and routes messages.Interfaces with physicians and patients.Files medical and administrative correspondence for the department.Processes prescription renewal requests.Completes patient forms.Obtains recordsAll other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education & Qualifications:High School diploma/GED.Some clerical experience.Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).Excellent typing skills and friendly telephone etiquette.Preferred Qualifications:2 years of administrative/clerical experience.EMR experience.Medical Office experience.Microsoft Office proficiency.Prior pre-authorization process experience.Spanish speaking.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day.
