High-Power Field Application Engineer (FAE)

We are currently seeking a specialized High-Power Field Application Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between our engineering teams and our key customers. Role Overview We are looking for a technical expert with a deep understanding of high-power distribution and global compliance standards. In this role, you will interface directly with customers to define power shelf requirements, ensuring our solutions meet rigorous OCP ORV3 specifications and international safety standards. Key Responsibilities Customer Technical Interface: Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, translating their power shelf requirements into actionable engineering specifications. Connector Specification: Advise customers on the selection and integration of L12 IEC and NEMA connectors, ensuring optimal compatibility with their infrastructure. Standards Compliance: Ensure all product applications adhere to global AC power cord standards, including UL, VDE, and CCC. You will specifically navigate regulations for emerging markets, such as BIS (India) and BSMI (Taiwan). OCP Implementation: Leverage your deep knowledge of OCP ORV3 (Open Compute Project) specifications to guide high-power connection designs, specifically focusing on Neutral, Live, and Earth wiring methods. Testing & Validation: Oversee and interpret critical testing procedures, including Temperature Rise (T-rise), HiPot testing, and power integrity assessments to ensure product safety and reliability. Required Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience. Proven experience as a Field Application Engineer or Design Engineer in the power / connectivity industry. Technical Skills: Three-Phase Power Expertise: Strong background in power calculations. You must be comfortable performing complex calculations for three-phase systems (including open three-phase configurations). Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of UL 817 standards for cord sets and power supply cords. Industrial Standards: Well-versed in IEC 60309 standards regarding industrial plugs, socket-outlets, and cable assemblies. Global Certification: Familiarity with international regulatory bodies (VDE, CCC, BIS, BSMI) and their specific requirements for power cords. Preferred Skills Experience working with Hyperscale Data Center clients. Hands-on experience with thermal simulation or power integrity software tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex electrical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Why Join JPC Connectivity?
