Job Description Third Shift SupervisorLocation: BioTouch – Old BrimShift: Third Shift – Overnight – 11:00pm to 7:00amPosition SummaryThe Third Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all overnight manufacturing, distribution, and inventory control activities to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate operations. This role leads frontline teams across production, staging, shipping/receiving, and inventory, ensuring continuity from second shift and readiness for first shift handoff.This individual must be highly self-sufficient, decisive, and hands-on, with the ability to manage multiple functions with limited on-site leadership support.ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesProduction OversightSupervise and support production staff to meet nightly output targets and quality standardsEnsure adherence to SOPs, GMP standards, and safety protocolsTroubleshoot production issues in real-time and escalate when necessaryMonitor labor efficiency, downtime, and waste; drive continuous improvementDistribution & LogisticsOversee staging, picking, packing, and shipping activities to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillmentCoordinate inbound/outbound shipments and ensure proper documentationEnsure dock operations run efficiently and safely during overnight hoursResolve shipment discrepancies and communicate issues for next-day follow-upInventory ManagementMaintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, audits, and system updatesInvestigate and resolve inventory discrepancies (shortages, overages, mis-picks)Ensure proper material flow between production and warehousePartner with materials/inventory teams to ensure alignment with system dataTeam LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a cross-functional overnight team (production + warehouse)Assign tasks, monitor performance, and hold team accountable to KPIsConduct shift start/end meetings and communicate priorities clearlyAddress attendance, performance, and behavioral issues in partnership with HRShift Ownership & CommunicationServe as the primary decision-maker for all third shift operationsEnsure smooth handoff between 2nd and 1st shifts with detailed reportingDocument key issues, production metrics, and incidents from the shiftCommunicate effectively with leadership on escalations and operational risksSafety & ComplianceEnforce all safety policies and proactively address hazardsEnsure compliance with company policies, GMP standards, and regulatory requirementsLead incident reporting and initial investigations if neededRequired SkillsQualifications3–5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse operationsExperience overseeing multiple functional areas (production + warehouse/inventory preferred)Strong understanding of inventory control, shipping/receiving, and production workflowsAbility to work independently and lead without direct oversightExperience in GMP, regulated, or high-quality environments preferredStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
