Chief Financial Officer
Valley-Wide Health Systems is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer and Leadership Team. In this role, you’ll guide the financial health and long-term sustainability of a growing, mission-driven healthcare organization while helping shape strategy, evaluate growth opportunities, and align resources with organizational impact.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy, Operations & ComplianceLead financial planning, forecasting, and capital strategyAdvise executive leadership and Board members on performance, risks, and opportunitiesAlign financial strategy with organizational growth and missionOversee financial reporting, budgeting, systems, and cash managementEnsure accuracy, internal controls, and compliance with all regulatory requirementsFunding, Revenue & Financial PerformanceDevelop and support funding strategies, including grants and philanthropyProvide financial modeling for fundraising and capital initiativesEvaluate funding opportunities for long-term sustainabilityOptimize revenue cycle and reimbursement strategiesOversee grant compliance and reportingEvaluate financial performance of programs and new initiativesLeadership & Strategic Decision SupportLead finance functions including accounting, billing, and purchasingDevelop staff and foster accountability and transparencyBuild financial acumen across operational leadersProvide financial analysis for strategic initiatives and service expansionDevelop pro formas and business casesIdentify opportunities to improve financial and operational performanceLeadership ProfileStrategic thinker who translates financial data into actionable insightCollaborative partner to executive leadership and Board membersAble to connect financial strategy with mission impact to support external partnerships and fundingComfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and competing prioritiesStrong judgment, integrity, and accountabilityCommitment to mission-driven healthcare and underserved populationsLocation & Type of JobThis job is a full-time onsite job located in Alamosa, Colorado.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred)Substantial progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within healthcare, FQHC, or nonprofit environmentsExperience with complex funding streams, regulatory environments, and reimbursement modelsDemonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and operational levelsExperience leading and developing teamsExperience supporting or partnering in fundraising, grant strategy, or development initiatives preferred
