The Senior Architecture Manager leads technology strategy and execution for cloud-native and AI-enabled products and platforms. This role drives the digital creation of new and innovative tools and provides automation and AI-driven efficiencies at scale across business processes and workflows, as well as for new product innovation.
This role provides senior technical leadership across engineering, QA, and operations teams. The role ensures alignment with enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities Execute the technology vision and roadmap aligned with business goals.
Lead design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native platforms aligned to enterprise standards.
Drive innovation through AWS cloud services and AI-powered solutions for products and platforms.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering, QA, and operations teams.
Oversee end-to-end technology delivery and promote agile and continuous improvement.
Drive adoption of AI/ML capabilities across products and internal platforms.
Manage technology vendors and communicate progress and risks to senior stakeholders.
Mentor architects and tech leads and foster a culture of innovation and learning.
Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required. Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Systems Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of work experience, including 4 years or more experience in a management position.
Experience managing publishing technology workflows (journal publishing, metadata ingestion, XML/HTML transformation, DOI/indexing).
Strong hands-on knowledge of development and technologies and including AI based Development tools.
Familiarity on working with Safe model with Hybrid team Structure.
Ability to lead and manage technology teams spread across multiple geographies and Time Zones.
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub Actions.
Ability to identify and integrate AI/ML use cases into business workflows.
Experience collaborating with AI engineers and data teams.
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and change-management skills.
This role can be based in our Washington, DC or Columbus, OH office, and a reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $160,000-$190,000 per year. ACS employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose.
