Forward-deployed engineer
About the RolePotpie is hiring a Forward-Deployed Engineer to help bring AI-native software development into complex enterprise engineering environments. This is a high-impact early role at the intersection of software engineering, AI agents, customer deployments, and product strategy. You will work directly with enterprise engineering teams to understand their codebases, workflows, infrastructure, and constraints, then design and deploy Potpie-powered solutions that solve real problems in production. This role may require you to be deployed at customer premises for hands-on implementation, technical discovery, stakeholder collaboration, and production rollout. You should be comfortable working closely with customer teams on-site, understanding their environment deeply, and solving problems in real time. You will not be a traditional solutions engineer. You will write production code, build integrations, customize agents, debug complex systems, and turn customer requirements into scalable product capabilities.About PotpiePotpie.ai is building the foundation layer for spec-driven development in large, complex codebases. We focus on making software systems understandable, debuggable, and operable through structured context and AI agents. This is not about keeping servers running. This is about building systems that are reliable under real-world complexity. What You Will DoAs a Forward-Deployed Engineer at Potpie, you will:Own technical implementation for enterprise deployments, from discovery to production rollout.Work closely with customer engineering, infrastructure, security, and platform teams to understand their codebases, workflows, and AI adoption needs.Configure, customize, and deploy Potpie in customer environments, including cloud, self-hosted, and on-premise setups.Build custom agents, workflows, integrations, and tools for customer-specific engineering use cases.Integrate Potpie with systems such as GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Notion, CI/CD pipelines, ticketing systems, logs, documentation, and internal developer platforms.Debug issues across backend systems, infrastructure, agent behavior, retrieval quality, knowledge graph construction, and customer environments..Partner with product and core engineering to improve reliability, scalability, security, observability, and deployment automation.Build internal tooling, scripts, documentation, and repeatable processes that make future deployments faster and more reliable.Act as the technical bridge between Potpie’s product team and customers using Potpie in real-world engineering systems. You May Be a Strong Fit If You HaveProof of WorkAt Potpie, we care deeply about proof of work. That can come from strong prior engineering experience, meaningful side projects, open-source contributions, customer-facing technical work, research, infrastructure projects, or anything else that shows technical depth and the ability to build. We do not evaluate people only by years of experience.
