Logistics Coordinator will support the Operations Manager at a 24 truck driver operation in Walker, MI. The customer is a full service, one stop provider of the reusable linen needs within the healthcare industry. They have over seven decades of linen management expertise. Apache Logistics plays an integral part in making sure medical facilities are relieved of used linens and stocked with clean linens on a regular basis.
Position Details:
Monday – Friday
After hours and weekend on call as needed
Start time 5:00 until approximately 1:00pm
Loading supervision and assistance including, organizing staging area on loading dock and confirming all deliveries are loaded and accounted for
Assist in loading and unloading trailers when needed
Ensure drivers are starting on time and remaining on schedule
Dispatching and scheduling routes
Make sure all routes are covered every day including adjusting driver schedules and route assignments to cover if there is a call off
Cover routes as needed
Take stock of and process returned deliveries
Keep track of truck capacity
Bi-Annual deep cleaning of trailers
Driver training and improvement
Create and maintain delivery information and site maps and diagrams
Safety management
Assist in monitoring driver behavior to help improve safety and meet safety goals
Required Skills and Abilities
Minimum Chauffer’s License
12 months box truck driving experience
DOT Medical Card
DOT drug screen
Good driving record
1 year logistics experience
Understanding of CSA and DOT compliance
Computer skills including: Microsoft Office suite, Understanding databases, Email, Android and Apple smartphones or tablets
Effective Communicator: Clearly communicate issues to our customer, Instruct drivers, following up on details and seeing tasks through to completion
Be attentive and thorough in satisfying customer and employee needs
Problem Solving
Having a positive attitude and approach
Collaborating and listening to other ideas
Practical solutions that address the customer’s operational and financial needs first
Ability to make decisions independently when necessary
