Senior CNC Machinist Okuma Multus (Multi-Axis Programming)Oxford Solutions is working with a precision manufacturing client to hire a Senior CNC Machinist for a direct hire, onsite opportunity. This role is ideal for a highly skilled Class A Machinist who thrives in a high-mix, low-volume environment and can independently manage complex setups, programming, and process improvements. This individual will also serve as a technical leader and mentor on the shop floor.Responsibilities:Program complex components using Okuma IGF control systemsSet up and operate Okuma Multus B300 and B400 multi-axis machines to tight tolerances (.001")Create, edit, and optimize G & M code programs for efficiency and repeatabilityDesign and implement custom fixtures, jigs, and workholding solutionsDevelop and maintain setup sheets, tooling strategies, and program documentationPerform first article inspections and in-process quality checksTroubleshoot machining issues including tool wear, surface finish, vibration, and dimensional deviationsCollaborate with engineering and CAM teams to improve manufacturability and workflowMentor junior machinists on setup techniques and best practicesSupport continuous improvement initiatives, including cycle time reduction and process optimizationQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical machining education preferred8+ years of CNC machining experience, including mills and lathes4+ years of Okuma IGF programming experience, preferably on Multus platformsStrong multi-axis programming skills and experience with CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360Proven ability to independently develop programs, select tooling, and design fixturesAdvanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge, including aerospace-level tolerancingProficiency with precision inspection tools including micrometers, bore gauges, and indicatorsExperience working with tight tolerances and complex geometriesStrong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills
