Coding Instructor - Teach After School Classes
Are you looking for a part-time job with flexible hours? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children by teaching them how to code? Are you looking for a job where you can make up to $60 per in-person after school class (typically a 1-hour class)? If yes, read on!
At least 2 afternoons a week, you’ll teach in an in-person setting at a local school. Schools are located in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Austin, TX, and the DMV area, including Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
»Our classes are grouped by age: 5–7 or 8–12 or 12+
»Common class offerings include: Scratch, Python, Web development, C#, Unity, Blender, Minecraft Modding, Roblox Modding, Robotics, and more!
Who We Are:
Coding with Kids is a leading national academy teaching computer programming to students 5-18 years old. We pride ourselves in the quality of our classes, in the comprehensiveness of our curriculum, and the relationships we build with our instructors and our customers. We teach both online and in-person classes.
Who You Are:
»You have coding experience (this could be anything from coding in Scratch to programming in Python or Java; our team is full of instructors with diverse backgrounds!)
»You have experience working with children or youth in a classroom or a group setting
»You love working with kids and are excited to teach them new skills!
How the Pay Works:
You are paid for more than just the time students are in class. Your compensation includes paid time for:
»Teaching
»Class preparation
»Classroom setup and cleanup
The base rate is $16-$22/hour.
In addition, you will earn a $20–$30 daily performance bonus for each qualifying class location as long as you fulfill your professional responsibilities (teaching at two locations in one day means you can earn the bonus twice).
This means instructors can earn up to $60 per class taught, depending on the class and performance bonus.
