Universal is looking for responsible, energetic new team members to support our manufacturing process.JOIN OUR TEAM TODAY ENJOY EXCELLENT BENEFITS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILYHealth Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Drugs - 1st day of employmentLife Insurance – Equal to Annual Salary - 1st day of employmentCompany Contribution Pension PlanProfit Sharing401(k) with MatchPaid Holidays & VacationPosition Overview: To work with and/or be given direction by the Bridgeville Lab Manager on assigned job responsibilities regarding the coordination and review of testing results, order status, and dispositioning of orders for the Bridgeville and North Jackson plants.Specific Responsibilities:Specific primary responsibilities are defined by the following, but not limited to:Develop a detailed understanding of testing requirements to meet specifications and standardsReview test results and/or process charts for acceptance per specification(s)Create documentation and certifications based on the manufacturing order for specific operations stepsExpedite flow of order releases with Operations to ensure adherence to planning requirementsExtensive interaction within Operations, Sales & TechnologyFoster a culture of a sense of urgency while also ensuring attention to detail in all processes in the assigned areasPlan, execute, and monitor work including weekly OTP orders, monthly shipping target orders, and late orders lingering in the LabEnsure compliance with Quality Policies through adherence to standardized processes & practicesRequired Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesFluent in Microsoft OfficeRequires good organizational skills and paying attention to detailMust be able to interact with the salary and hourly workforce on safety, scheduling and training issuesPrevious report and certification generation and review experience a plus, but not requiredFamiliarity with steel manufacturing process, testing requirements, and specificationsMust be highly organized and methodical in his/her approach to given tasksReview mechanical testing, metallographic results, and chemical analysisCreate certifications for stainless steel semi-finished productsOther Responsibilities:Communicate with all levels of employeesAbility to multi-taskOther tasks or duties as assignedWillingness to be an agent of change for improvement over the course of employmentWillingness to adapt to changing priorities, and respond to immediate operational needsAbility to work over-time, including weekends and/or anytime directed by Department ManagerEducation and Experience:College degree with business or engineering background in any related disciplineHigh School Graduate, BS degreeExperience in material test specification desired (AMS, ASTM, etc.)Previous report and certification generation and review experience a plus, but not requiredSafety:Ensure personal compliance with safety policies and rules, including PPE requirementsEnsure personal compliance with applicable regulatory (safety, environmental, health) standardsReporting and participation in the investigations of safety incidents and/or accidentsPhysical and Other Requirements:Ability to safely move around in a heavy industrial plant environment; including but not limited to:Walking or riding from building-to-building o Ascending or Descending steps within the plantAbility to stand for long periods of timeLifting up to 25 pounds on an occasional basisUniversal Stainless is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
