Job Title: Development ManagerReports To: Executive + Artistic DirectorStatus: Full-Time, ExemptSalary Range: $80,000–$85,000Ideal Start Date: June 2026Position SummaryThe Development Manager leads and executes The Egg’s fundraising strategy across all contributed revenue streams, including membership, grants, foundation support, government funding, corporate sponsorships, and individual giving. Reporting to the Executive + Artistic Director and working closely with Finance and Marketing, this role is responsible for identifying, securing, and stewarding funding to support The Egg’s programming and mission.This is a unique opportunity to serve as the organization’s first full-time development professional in many years, with the ability to build, shape, and grow contributed revenue for long-term impact.About The EggThe Egg is a performing arts venue in Albany, NY, featuring two theaters (980-seat and 440-seat). Owned by the State of New York and operated by the Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza Performing Arts Center Corporation, The Egg presents a diverse range of performances, supports emerging artists, partners with community organizations, and advances arts and cultural education in the Capital Region.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & LeadershipDevelop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategyAssess and refine development systems, strategies, and performanceGrants & Institutional FundingResearch, write, and manage grant proposals and reportsIdentify and pursue funding from foundations, corporations, and government sourcesIndividual Giving & MembershipManage donor and member pipelines, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardshipStrengthen and grow the Membership programCampaigns & Revenue InitiativesPlan and execute annual and special campaigns, including year-end appealsManage the seat naming campaign, including donor recognitionOversee revenue-generating opportunities such as program book and digital advertisingOperations & Financial ManagementCollaborate with Finance on tracking, reporting, and complianceDevelop and manage project budgetsBuild and maintain systems to track fundraising activity, deadlines, and revenue projectionsMinimum Qualifications1–3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or developmentDemonstrated grant writing experienceStrong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of organization and attention to detailExperience working with budgets or financial trackingPreferred QualificationsExperience in an arts or similarly sized nonprofit organizationExperience developing and implementing fundraising strategiesTrack record of increasing contributed revenueExperience managing membership or donor programsFamiliarity with the Capital Region and local funding landscapeExperience with New York State funding and reporting requirementsAbility to build or improve systems for tracking development activityStrong relationship management and donor stewardship skillsCollaborative, proactive, and adaptable approachWork Environment & ScheduleThis position is primarily remote, with periodic in-person meetings, donor engagements, and event support as needed.
