Lead Assembly TechnicianBME Fire Trucks is seeking an experienced Lead Assembly Technicians to lead one of our Assembly Teams. As Lead Assembly Technician you will be a vital part of building BME Fire Apparatus in a fast-paced factory environment. This role offers you the opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge and hands-on skills to assembly components efficiently and accurately. As Lead Assembly Technician, you may be responsible for any of the following:Water pumps, bumpers, rear steps, etcPreparing pipe for plumbing installation including cutting and threadingPerforming hydrostatic leak and vacuum tests and recording resultsRepairing any identified leaksInstalling plastic/rubber pneumatic gauge tubing and making connectionsFitting and installing pump panel and mechanical linkagesPerforming tack-welding for pipe and bracketryReading and interpreting blueprints and 3D drawing modelsCreating custom fabrication, such as brackets and pipe routingDesigning and fabricating equipment brackets and wire harnessesEmergency console buildoutsInstallation of Emergency lighting packagesMulti-plex systemsOEM Interface and programmingInstall and connect various electric wiring systemsInstall rough electric conduct and boxes according to blueprintsPull wires and harnesses through chassis or bodyWhile in Lead role, $1 per hour differentialRequirementsBackground in automotive or diesel mechanicsBasic math skills with ability to read tape measureAbility to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs/laddersExcellent diagnostic skillsAbility to use plasma torchExperience with hand and power toolsExperience with DOT airline fittings, PTO gear boxes, drivelinesHands on experience with impacts, drills, plasma torches, magnetic drillsProficiently use pneumatic or battery powered hand tools (ex. drilling, grinding, reciprocating saws)Ability to perform plumbing and welding functionsUnderstanding of electrical principlesUnderstanding of electrical circuits12-volt experienceMechanical Assembly experienceAble to work cooperatively with others as a team and with people of diverse backgroundsLeadership experienceThis is a full-time permanent positions located on site in Boise, Idaho.
