School Psychologist

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team at Central Office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and educational success of our students. This full-time position requires collaboration with educators, parents, and community resources to create a safe and supportive learning environment. The School Psychologist will assess student needs, provide counseling, and develop strategies to enhance student well-being and academic performance. Responsibilities Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs. Provide individual and group counseling to students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies. Offer crisis intervention and support during emergencies or traumatic events. Develop and deliver training workshops for staff and parents on mental health topics and effective strategies for supporting students. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop comprehensive support plans. Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and student progress. Stay informed about current research and best practices in school psychology and mental health. Requirements Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist. Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experience working in a school setting preferred. Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational and psychological practices.
