This leadership role is responsible for clean, reliable, and timely GAAP financials, strong internal controls, and a well-run accounting operation. The Controller reports directly to the CEO and is a trusted thought partner to the leadership and management teams - supporting budgeting, forecasting, and translating financial results into clear, decision-ready insights.Essential FunctionsOwn the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliancePrepare, review, and present accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reportsOwn the general ledger, chart of accounts, accounting policies, and internal controlsOversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely processing and high standards of internal and external serviceManage job costing and WIP accounting for residential and commercial solar projectsDevelop and maintain repeatable methodologies for allocating expenses across revenue centersPartner with department leaders to support budgeting, reforecasting, and OPEX visibilityProvide clear, accurate financial reporting and explanationsServe as primary liaison with external auditors and support all audit, tax, insurance and compliance activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisorsOversee accounting ERP systems (Sage Intacct) and identify opportunities to improve integrations, reporting, and processesLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; establish goals, expectations, and accountabilityStandards & ExpectationsChampion Namaste Solar's mission, core values, and pillars of co‑ownershipMaintain a high standard of integrity, transparency, and accountabilityCommunicate errors, irregularities, or significant adjustments promptly and constructivelyBring intellectual curiosity, strong business judgment, and a continuous improvement mindsetBuild effective relationships across the organization through collaboration and clarityOperate with humility and openness in a high‑transparency environmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of degreeMinimum of eight years of progressive accounting experience, including AR, AP, GL, and GAAP financial reportingDemonstrated experience leading or managing an accounting teamConstruction, solar, or job‑costing experience strongly preferredStrong accounting systems experience; Sage Intacct experience a plusExperience in small‑to‑mid‑size, mission‑driven, or employee‑owned organizations preferredSelf‑starter with strong attention to detail, professional judgment, and communication skillsCompensation And BenefitsCompensation will be dependent on experience, certifications, and licensesMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance options within the first 30 daysCompany paid Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability401K ProgramVoluntary Life InsurancePaid volunteer timePaid time offEmployee Assistance ProgramFree RTD EcoPassDiscounts to put solar on your homeApplication DeadlineAs per Colorado State law, Namaste Solar must communicate an application deadline for the position.
