Position Summary
STH is seeking an Apprentice Field Service Technician to join our growing team. This entry-level position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working with their hands and are eager to learn a skilled trade.
The Apprentice Technician will work alongside experienced Field Service Technicians, assisting with equipment maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and installations while developing the skills necessary to advance into a fully independent technician role.
No direct pump industry experience is required. Candidates with backgrounds in farming, automotive repair, plumbing, maintenance, construction, or other hands-on trades are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Assist technicians with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, and rotating equipment.
Learn proper equipment disassembly, inspection, and reassembly procedures.
Support troubleshooting efforts for mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
Assist with preventative maintenance and field service activities at customer locations.
Safely operate hand and power tools.
Gather equipment information and assist with documentation of service work.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Provide professional customer service while representing the company in the field.
Participate in company training programs and hands-on learning opportunities.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
Ability to use basic hand tools and perform physical work.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Backgrounds
Farming or agricultural equipment experience.
Automotive repair or maintenance.
Plumbing.
Construction trades.
Mechanical assembly or repair.
Other hands-on labor or technical environments.
Security & Background Requirements
Many customer locations require enhanced security screening. Candidates must be able to successfully pass background investigations and meet customer site access requirements. Some facilities may also require additional screening, including credit checks, as a condition of entry.
