Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer*24-month contract with potential to extend/convert*Fully RemoteOptomi, in partnership with our premier client in the media industry, is seeking a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native development, DevOps, and software engineering. In this role, you’ll drive the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance systems and infrastructure. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to address complex challenges in distributed systems, data management, and large-scale performance.As a technical leader, you’ll write efficient, well-documented code, define robust architectural solutions, and mentor peers while staying on top of modern practices in cloud and software engineering.Must Haves5+ years of software development experience across multiple domainsStrong background in distributed systems and data managementExpert-level coding skills with attention to performance and efficiencyAdvanced proficiency in Python for backend and infrastructure developmentSolid DevOps experience: CI/CD, containerization (Docker), testing, and automationHands-on experience with AWS services (Networking, IAM, S3, Kinesis, Lambda, SNS)Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK)Experience collaborating with engineering, data, and product teamsAbility to design scalable, reliable, and low-latency architecturesExperience in code reviews and providing technical mentorshipNice to HavesProficiency in a statically typed language (TypeScript, Java, etc.)Knowledge of data architecture trade-offs (SQL vs NoSQL, partitioning, warehouses)Experience with low-level design (data structures, code organization)Awareness of modern trends in cloud engineering and data systemsPassion for reusable components and platform-level improvements
