Registration SpecialistNewport Mental Health (NMH) is a progressive high-energy organization that uses state of the art person-centered recovery approach to help individuals recover from mental illness and substance use disorders. NMH extends its trauma informed evidence-based services to children, adolescents, families, and adults. Our services vary from outreach, specialized program, mental health, school-based therapy, substance use therapy, community-based therapy, and outpatient clinic.We are currently seeking an experienced and service-oriented Registration specialist to join our team. We are a high volume and fast paced medical office, so a positive attitude and exceptional communication skills are required! Coverage will be needed at both of our locations located within a mile of each other.Main duties and responsibilities:Complete client registration for new clients during open access. Collect and ensure demographic information is correct and entered into the Echo Vantage system.Use reference tools to determine the expected payment due at time of service.Assist with the client registration process and explain financial and insurance information.Verifying patient insurance and determining eligibility for submission to third party payers.Educates patients regarding benefits and collects patient payments, at point of service.Works with the billing department to ensure all the necessary information has been obtained.Oversee the self-pay and the sliding fee scale process, in addition to applying self-pay payments to each client's account.Provide overflow support for Front Desk operations, including answering incoming calls, checking clients in and out, and supporting overall front desk workflow during high-volume periods.What we expect of you:High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 or more years' experience in a busy medical officeExperience working in a medical office.Good telephone etiquette.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to work with a variety of personalities with sensitivity.Ability to thrive and maintain composure in a fast-paced and high-volume medical office.Newport Mental Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
