Speech Language Pathologist

At EH, you'll find more than a job - you'll find a community that celebrates people and believes in the power of educators to change lives.SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTContract: 184 DaysSalary: Commensurate with experienceResponsibilities/Requirements:Follow the guidelines of P.L. 101-476 and Article 7 in identification, enrollment, and programming for students who require speech, language, or hearing services.Conduct individual evaluations of the students whose initial speech and/or language screening indicate deficits/delays after a referral has been received. Conduct language evaluations on those referred for initial evaluations for ASD and DHH.Responsible for initiation of initial and annual conferences for students receiving speech/language only services. Participate as a team member in all other initial and annual case conferences for students who are enrolled in speech/language programming.Prepare and implement appropriate Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and develop Individual Transition Plans, when applicable, for students who are enrolled in speech/language programming.Provide a variety of alternative learning activities, teaching strategies, and instructional materials to address the needs of the students.Maintain a positive learning environment which is appropriate and well organized to promote student interest in learning.Utilize an appropriate behavior management system to maintain efficient use of the total instructional time.Maintain ongoing communication with the school personnel, parents, and other professionals to positively enhance program effectiveness.Participate in departmental meetings, staff meetings, and professional learning service activities.Participate as a team member to provide hearing screenings for students in Kindergarten, grades one, four, seven and ten, students who are new to the school system, and students who are suspected to have speech, language, or hearing problems on a referral basis.Complete annual employee training.Maintain confidentiality about students, staff and families.Promote positive school culture.Remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the corporation.Potential 1 day per week work from home opportunity.Perform other duties as assigned by designee.Qualifications:* Master's Degree in Speech/Language PathologyCommunity School Corporation of Eastern Hancock County is an equal opportunity employer.Benefits for Certified EmployeesPTO Days - 13 days (pro-rated based upon hire date).
