Veterinary Doctor's AssistantACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Veterinary Doctor's Assistant to join our Exotics Team! Our Doctor's Assistants play a vital role in setting the tone for every client and patient experience, building trust through empathy, clarity, and compassion from the very first interaction. In this role, you will be part of a team delivering life-saving care and exceptional service, working side by side with our veterinarians, technicians, and client care team to support patients and the people who love them when they need it most.Your responsibilities may include:Work closely with Board Certified SpecialistsYou'll play a critical role in supporting doctors, technicians, patients, and clients throughout the hospital experienceHandle client communication, including phone calls and appointments.Attach necessary records, images, diagnostic results, and other relevant documents to the patient fileDispense medications as directed by the veterinarianPrepare cost estimates for diagnostics, outpatient treatments, procedures, and hospitalizations, at home care and review them with pet owners.Ensure that client consent forms and estimates are signed when required.Process laboratory samples and submissions.Guide clients through the euthanasia process, including assisting with paperwork and aftercare procedures.Our ideal candidates:Have a desire to help people and their petsProficient in using veterinary computer systems for data entry, including charges and patient information.Minimum 2 years veterinary experience in a client service role or similar roleMust be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in a clear and audible voiceA friendly and professional demeanor.Self-driven and motivated.Strong ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, critical care settingCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsAnd most importantly embody our core principles: Quality, Integrity, Compassion and ServiceMust be able to work 1 weekend day per weekAt ACCESS, we recognize the importance of those individuals taking such good care of our pets and their families by offering competitive pay starting at $21 - $26/hour (dependent upon experience). ACCESS Los Angeles also offers shift differentials.
