In close partnership with the Board of Directors, this leader ensures alignment on strategy, maintains transparency, and supports strong governance.This role requires a leader who can connect strategy to execution and understands how the organization operates, financial performance, operations, risk, and leadership effectiveness. The CEO will guide Sun East through growth and change, while evaluating internal capabilities and external opportunities to position the organization for continued success.What You Will DoSet and drive the credit union’s vision for growth, market expansion, and long-term sustainabilityEnsure strong financial performance, regulatory compliance, and sound risk managementPartner closely with the Board to maintain alignment, transparency, and trustLead the organization with clarity and accountability across all functionsNavigate the intersection of financial performance, member experience, employee engagement, and community impactChampion and strengthen a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementBuild, mentor, and develop a high-performing executive team; establish and maintain a strong succession benchEvaluate internal structure, talent, and leadership capacity to support future growthGuide the organization through change with steady, disciplined leadershipAssess external partnerships, fintech opportunities, and market conditions to inform strategic decisionsRepresent Sun East externally, strengthening relationships with regulators, legislators, and community leadersWhat You Bring to the RoleMinimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, with 12–15+ years preferred, including executive-level responsibility within a financial institution or similar organizationProven track record of driving growth, performance, and long-term organizational stabilityStrong financial acumen, with experience ensuring financial strength, compliance, and risk managementExperience leading and developing senior leadership teams across multiple functionsDemonstrated commitment to leadership development, mentoring, and succession planningAbility to evaluate operations, talent, and strategy with sound judgment and disciplineExperience navigating change, market pressures, and evolving industry conditionsFamiliarity with digital banking, fintech, and emerging technologies, and the ability to assess their impact and valueExperience working effectively with a Board, including governance alignment and transparent communicationEstablished credibility within the credit union or financial services industryStrong communication skills, with the ability to lead through clarity, consistency, and presenceA leadership approach grounded in accountability, integrity, and alignment with Sun East’s mission and valuesWhat the Role RequiresThis is a long-term leadership opportunity for someone who can balance vision with execution.
