Accounting Analyst - Banking

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Analyst to join a growing financial institution. This role will be responsible for supporting the accounting and finance department with a strong focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and general accounting functions within a banking environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in banking or financial services and possess a strong understanding of accounting operations, internal controls, and regulatory standards.ResponsibilitiesProcess and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities accurately and timelyReview invoices, expense reports, payment requests, and vendor statements for accuracy and approval compliancePrepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activitiesReconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and outstanding transactionsMonitor receivables and assist with collections, payment tracking, and aging reportsSupport daily accounting operations and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policiesAssist with preparation of financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentationResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies, payment issues, and reconciling itemsCollaborate with internal departments and vendors regarding payment inquiries and account maintenanceSupport audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance requests as neededMaintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and banking regulationsAssist with process improvements and automation initiatives to increase operational efficiencyQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredMinimum 2+ years of accounting experience within a banking, financial services, or highly regulated environmentHands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions requiredStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reportingExperience working with accounting software and banking platformsProficient in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliations
