We are currently seeking a highly qualified Engineer III that can work independently and assist in managing projects, including the preparation of engineering reports, studies, and analyses. Serves as team leader and has supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and photographs to plan and design projects.
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills for design plans and studies.
Use specialized computer software to analyze and model data.
Review design computations and quantity estimates
Review team drawings and designs to assure they are in accordance with production and design standards.
Assist in preparation of cost proposals and work scopes.
Prepare and maintain project work plans.
Review invoices and prepare monthly progress reports.
Monitor and control project budgets and reports potential budget overruns to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
Review and approve team member timesheets and expenses.
Manage team training and performance appraisals.
Write reports and other deliverables.
Coordinate with the prime contractor and the client and attend meetings as needed.
Manage quality assurance and quality control for project assignments.
Perform other related work, as assigned or apparent.
Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or related field.
Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated proficiency.
P.E. required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong time management and interpersonal skills
Ability to function as both a team leader and as a team member.
Strong working knowledge of software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS, as well as Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, and SIDRA.
Experience in traffic engineering studies, data collection and analysis, or design.
Knowledge of traffic engineering principles, standards, regulations, and practices.
