NORTHWEST NAZARENE UNIVERSITYOffice of Marketing & CommunicationsCopywriterThe Copywriter supports the University's marketing and communication efforts by creating clear, engaging and on-brand written content across a variety of platforms. This role focuses on writing and editing content that reflects the University's mission, voice and values while connecting with prospective students, current students and the broader community. The Copywriter works closely with the Marketing & Communications team to support campaigns, assist with email and web content and contribute to storytelling efforts across the University. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications. RequirementsEssential Functions:The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Writes and edits content for a variety of platforms including email, web, social media, print materials and digital marketing campaigns.Supports the development of marketing and communication content that aligns with the University's brand and voiceAssists in drafting and editing email communications within the University's email platform (Emma).Contributes to website copy updates and new page development as needed.Writes and supports the development of blog posts, student stories and other storytelling content.Assists in drafting press releases and internal communications under the guidance of senior team members.Collaborates with the Social Media Manager and Creative Team to ensure alignment across messaging and campaigns.Proofreads and edits content for clarity, grammar, accuracy and consistency.Helps maintain brand voice and editorial standards across projects.Manages multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Participates in team meetings and contribute ideas for campaigns and content development.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing or a related field1+ years of related experience or relevant coursework/internship experienceStrong writing and editing skills with attention to detailDemonstrated ability to write for different audiences and platformsBasic understanding of AP Style or willingness to learnStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to receive feedback and revise work accordinglyCollaborative mindset with strong interpersonal communication skillsFamiliarity with or interest in digital marketing and content strategyAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentialityCommitment to and understanding of the University's mission, vision and valuesCompensation Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience.
