About the Role As a Storeroom Manager at Zekelman Industries Atlas Tube, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient management and availability of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) inventory that supports uninterrupted plant operations. This position requires strong inventory management expertise, leadership capabilities, and systems knowledge to maintain accurate material master data, optimize MRP performance within SAP, and drive continuous improvements in storeroom processes and technology. This role collaborates closely with stockroom attendants, plant leadership, purchasing teams, and suppliers to maintain accurate inventory control, reliable parts availability, and streamlined operations across multiple facilities. This is an onsite role based at one of the following Atlas Tube plant locations: Chicago, IL; Plymouth, MI; Kansas City, MO; Blytheville, AR; Birmingham, AL; or Harrow, ON, with approximately 75% travel to support operations across all locations. What You'll Do Manage, guide, and coach storeroom attendants in daily activities including issuing goods, receiving materials, stocking inventory, and maintaining cycle count processes. Collaborate with storeroom attendants and purchasing teams to correct and maintain SAP material master data, ensuring accurate reporting and proper MRP functionality across all locations. Monitor inventory usage and stock order reports within MRP systems to maintain proper min/max levels, adjust inventory thresholds, and obtain approvals for new SAP stock items. Identify obsolete inventory, manage segregation processes, and maintain accurate records to support efficient stock management. Participate as a member of the plant management teams across supported locations to standardize storeroom parts, implement solutions, and ensure critical components are available to maintain operational continuity. Lead storeroom design, implementation, and optimization efforts, including upgrades to systems such as VLM, RFID, vending solutions, and other technologies that improve inventory control and accessibility. Develop and maintain storeroom security processes including system access controls, monitoring procedures, and scanning and barcoding initiatives that enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Partner with buyers and suppliers to resolve quality issues, including coordinating corrective actions for engineered machine components when necessary. Establish and maintain standardized processes and procedures for inventory management, including FIFO stock placement guidelines and comprehensive storeroom procedure documentation. Oversee inventory cycle count programs and system monitoring to ensure compliance with Zekelman policies, investigate discrepancies, and obtain required approvals before making SAP inventory adjustments. Who You Are 35 years of experience in inventory management, storeroom operations, or supply chain roles, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment Post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Technical Skills SAP, MRP systems, inventory control processes, and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel Soft Skills strong communication, leadership, interpersonal collaboration, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities Additional Qualifications ability to travel frequently between U.S. and Canadian facilities; valid passport and eligibility for cross-border travel required What You'll Get Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
