Accounting / Payroll Specialist

Maintenance Methods, Inc Job Description Job Title: Payroll Specialists This position is ideal for a self-motivated, highly organized, detail orientated, accurate and fast paced individual that can work under strict deadlines. Duties & Responsibilities: Monthly bookkeeping for clients Utilize technical accounting skills to accurately record financial transactions Conduct general ledger reconciliations to ensure data efficient data Manage accounts payable and receivable processes Assist with bank reconciliations to verify account balances Apply double-entry bookkeeping principles for precise record-keeping Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly Utilize knowledge of debits and credits to maintain balanced financial records Apply financial concepts to support decision-making processes Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processes Manage full-service payroll process in its entirety Completion of accurate and efficient payrolls, including processing of all required payroll reports and checks. Supervise and coach direct reports Applicants Should Possess: At least 2 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience or similar Experience with QuickBooks Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, adhering to deadlines Excellent telephone presence and strong verbal skills Organization skills and team player mentality Advanced computer/technical skills Ability to multitask Possess strong code of ethics Proficient user of Microsoft Office products Excellent professional interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational and project management skills – able to manage multiple priorities Proactively completing tasks and meeting deadlines Positive, professional attitude Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes An analytical mind and good math skills Education: Education in business or accounting preferred or equivalent experience Minimum of 2 year of experience in Payroll Bookkeeping: 2 years (Required) QuickBooks: 2 years Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Education: Associate (Preferred) Experience: Payroll: 2 years (Preferred) Accounting: 2 years (Preferred) Work Location: In person
