Position Summary:
Are you someone who has a true calling to make a difference in the lives of others? We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities in a group home setting. This role requires individuals who are not only dependable and hard-working but who have a heart for caregiving and a passion for helping others thrive.
As a DSP, you will serve as a companion, mentor, and caregiver—providing support with daily living activities, promoting independence, and creating a nurturing and respectful home environment for the individuals we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate, hands-on care and companionship to adults with mental and physical disabilities.
Assist with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary needs.
Perform general housekeeping duties such as laundry, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Support clients in community outings, medical appointments, and recreational activities.
Accurately document care, behaviors, and incidents according to policies and procedures.
Administer medications (if certified) and monitor individuals’ health and wellness.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure each resident's individual support plan (ISP) is followed.
Advocate for the rights, choices, and dignity of each individual in care.
Be fully present, emotionally available, and willing to form meaningful connections with residents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must pass the following:
Level 2 Background Screening (including fingerprinting)
Local law enforcement background check
Drug screening
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
CPR/First Aid Certification a plus (training may be provided).
Prior experience in caregiving, group homes, behavioral health, or disability services is a plus but not required—we value heart and willingness to learn.
