Sales Manager
Job Overview:
Captain Andy's is seeking a skilled and motivated Sales Manager to drive our private charter and tour sales, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences. This individual will manage the hospitality and call teams, ensuring smooth booking processes and building relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of marketing principles to collaborate effectively with external marketing partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Private Charters & Sales:
Act as the primary point of contact for private charter sales, ensuring a seamless experience from inquiry through booking.
Develop and implement sales strategies to grow private charters, group bookings, and other revenue opportunities.
Set and manage sales targets for the hospitality and call teams.
Work closely with the hospitality team to maintain high guest satisfaction and service standards.
Hospitality & Call Team Management:
Lead and coach the hospitality and call center teams, ensuring a guest-first mentality and efficient booking practices.
Improve sales conversions through effective training, scripts, and booking processes.
Marketing Collaboration:
Collaborate with outsourced marketing partners to ensure alignment between sales objectives and marketing efforts.
Provide input on promotional strategies, including content for social media, email campaigns, and other marketing collateral.
Understand and contribute to marketing initiatives that drive sales, such as SEO, PPC, and other digital marketing efforts.
Strategy & Growth:
Develop and execute sales plans to increase revenue and expand market share.
Analyze sales data and trends to identify new opportunities for growth and improvement.
Foster relationships with key clients and partners to boost repeat business and referrals.
Product Knowledge:
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Captain Andy’s tours, charters, and services.
Stay informed about seasonal changes, special offerings, and industry trends to effectively position products and services to clients.
Train hospitality and call teams on product details to ensure accurate information is communicated to guests.
Team Development & Performance Monitoring:
Track team performance through KPIs (key performance indicators) and provide actionable feedback to improve sales productivity.
Implement ongoing training programs to improve the team’s knowledge of products, customer service, and sales techniques.
Manage the scheduling and workload distribution of the hospitality and call center teams to ensure optimal performance.
Revenue Forecasting & Budget Management:
Prepare and present sales forecasts and performance reports to the GM/President, outlining trends, targets, and projections.
Manage sales budgets, ensuring that costs align with revenue goals and identifying areas for financial optimization.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Collaborate with operations and culinary teams to ensure private charters and tours align with guest expectations, including special requests or customized experiences.
Liaise with the Engineering Department to ensure vessel availability and readiness for private charters and tours.
Customer Feedback & Continuous Improvement:
Collect and analyze guest feedback to improve services and tailor offerings to better meet client needs.
Work with the team to develop and introduce new services, packages, or experiences based on market demand and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.
A solid understanding of basic marketing principles and how they apply to driving sales.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
Preferred:
Knowledge of the Kauai tourism market or broader Hawaii tourism industry.
Experience with private charters or other high-ticket sales.
Understanding of SEO, PPC, and other digital marketing strategies.
